Wastewater
OAI has been involved with siting and permitting 2
commercial and 19 domestic de-centralized wastewater treatment facilities
across southwest
Alabama. These effective and efficient "package" wastewater
treatment plants provide leading edge solutions for developers
when compared to costly centralized wastewater treatment systems. Each
de-centralized wastewater treatment system, specifically designed
to meet existing needs and/or pre-planned for future
growth demands, provides a solution to the developer, gives a sense of
comfort to the homeowner and generates a new revenue stream to the area
utility. Everyone wins including the environment.
Each system includes a "home based" settling
unit, a collection network which moves the effluent from the home to
the treatment plant, a modular wastewater treatment plant, Figure 1
below, and the drip disposal field, Figure 2 below. The
wastewater treatment plant shown in Figure 1 treats up to 30,000
gallons of wastewater per day. This low profile plant operates
with a simple control panel outfitted with a telemetry system for
remote monitoring and control. This system will be up-graded with
additional units as needed and will ultimately be capable of treating
100,000 gpd. This plant's current electric bill runs less than
$130/month. With a modular design, these systems can be built
for a single subdivision or serve in a regional capacity for multiple
subdivisions.

treatment plants contact OAI (groundwater@oaiwater.com). We will
provide you with the information necessary to make an informed decision
on whether or not this wastewater treatment option is right for your
situation.
